Gaza in Flames: Israeli Airstrikes Leave Hundreds Dead, Including Children

Recent Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip have resulted in hundreds of deaths, including women and children, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region.

In the last week of April 2025, the Gaza Strip faced intensified Israeli airstrikes, resulting in hundreds of deaths, including women and children. Local hospitals reported that the bombings targeted densely populated areas such as Gaza City, Khan Younis, and Rafah, destroying homes and makeshift shelters. The UN expressed concern over the escalating violence and its devastating impact on civilians, especially children, who account for a significant percentage of the casualties. Humanitarian organizations are calling for an urgent ceasefire and unrestricted access to humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of Gaza's population.

According to local authorities, over 50,000 Palestinians have been killed since the conflict began in October 2023. The majority of the victims are women and children, and the healthcare infrastructure is on the brink of collapse due to shortages of medical supplies and overwhelmed hospitals.

Gaza in Ruins: Israeli Airstrikes Hit Schools and Hospitals, Deepening Humanitarian Crisis

In the last week of April 2025, the Gaza Strip experienced intensified Israeli airstrikes, targeting schools and hospitals. On April 23, an attack hit Yaffa School, which was sheltering displaced families, resulting in at least 10 deaths and widespread fires. On the same day, Durra Children's Hospital was struck, damaging the intensive care unit and destroying its solar power system, though no deaths were reported in that incident. Additionally, on April 9, an Israeli airstrike in Shuja'iyya, eastern Gaza City, destroyed a four-story residential building, killing at least 35 Palestinians, including women and children, and injuring more than 70 people.

International organizations have expressed concern over the increasing civilian deaths and destruction of essential infrastructure. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, stated that "Israel's resort to yet more military force will only heap further misery upon a Palestinian population already suffering catastrophic conditions."

The humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate, with blockades on the entry of essential aid, including food, medicine, and fuel, worsening the crisis for Gaza's 2.1 million residents.
